Montgomery County police identified the body of the man found in Seneca Creek on Sunday as Jose Israel Centeno Velasquez.
43-year-old Velasquez, who is also known to many as Carlos, was identified by family members on Tuesday.
He was last seen leaving his home on Girard Street in Gaithersburg on Friday, according to police. Velasquez’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
The police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who has information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect in connection with the homicide. Anyone who may have seen Velasquez should also contact Major Crimes detectives.
