Older adults who want to use public transit but don’t know how — or need a refresher — may benefit from a workshop scheduled for Aug. 9 in Rockville.
The free how-to workshop for residents age 50+ aims to help attendees learn the skills to confidently use the Metrorail system. In addition to classroom training, participants take a group bus and metrorail ride together for hands-on experience with public transit.
Attendees will learn how to read the Metro map, travel to destinations of their choosing and use station emergency and accessibility features.
The workshop takes place Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rockville Senior Center located at 1150 Carnation Drive.
While the workshop is free, interested persons must register in advance. To reserve a seat in the class or to learn more, call 301.738.3252.
