The Montgomery County Police Department released the name of the woman who died in the traffic collision that occurred on July 20.
According to a preliminary investigation by Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU), Christl Pedro, 81, of Poolesville was driving a black 2002 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Beallsville Road at approximately 9:31 p.m. Before reaching Jerusalem Road, she left the road and struck a tree. She was then transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
She was the only occupant in the vehicle. The reason why she left the roadway is still under investigation, according to the press release.
