Representatives from six organizations who are certified financial planners will be at the Silver Spring Civic Center at Veterans Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 19 at a free event open to the public.
Ask a Financial Planner Day features one-on-one financial coaching and workshops on basic financial, college, estate, social security and Medicare planning as well as other issues.
The event is sponsored by the Financial Planning Association of National Capital Area, Britepaths, Capital Area Asset Builders, Catholic Charities, the Foundation for Financial Planning and the Greater Washington Community Foundation.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the public to receive free, private consultations,” said Event Pro Bono Chairs Candace Lee and Marcio Silveira.
Registration is encouraged but not required.
Spanish and Portuguese-speaking financial planners will be available.
