Police said a man has been arrested and charged for a Gaithersburg bank robbery that happened this week.
John Reynolds, 33, of an unknown address, is charged with robbing a TD Bank, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
At about 2:23 p.m. on Tuesday, MCPD and Gaithersburg Police Department officers responded to the location in the 800 block of West Diamond Avenue for a reported bank robbery, per a release from MCPD.
According to police, Reynolds went into the bank and approached an employee behind the counter. Reynolds demanded money and then jumped over the counter, removed money from a drawer, put it in a bag and left in a Hyundai.
MCPD stated that detectives reviewed surveillance and put out a lookout for Reynolds. Police found the Hyundai in Rockville and followed it to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Piccard Drive. Officers took Reynolds into custody.
Police recovered bags containing money that Reynolds possessed as well as evidence connecting him to the crime.
He was charged with robbery and is held without bond, according to police.
