The longest set of escalators in the Western Hemisphere are right here in Montgomery County. The Wheaton Metro station escalators are 230 feet long with a vertical rise of 115 feet.
Earlier this year, MCM took a ride on the record-setting escalator with Councilmember Natali Fani-González, who represents District 6 including Wheaton.
