May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and on Sunday residents can join a celebration in Germantown.

The third annual event is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Seneca Valley High School at 19401 Crystal Rock Drive.

There will be cultural performances, kid-friendly activities, henna, face painting, and food trucks, according to the event webpage. Residents can learn about resources in the AAPI community, and the event will also have a health fair.

“It’s a wonderful time to also see different performances and just understand, again, the very diverse community that we have here in the Asian American community and then broadly in our county,” County Chief Administrative Officer Richard Madaleno said during a media briefing Wednesday.

The celebration is hosted by the Asian American Health Initiative and the Office of Community Partnerships.
