Silver Spring native and Montgomery Blair High grad Lisa Ann Walter will perform at the newly dubbed Bethesda Theater in mid-September. Known to TV fans everywhere as Melissa Schemmenti, Walter stars as the veteran second grade teacher on ABC’s Abbott Elementary.
Before her role on Abbott, Walter appeared in many movies like the Parent Trap and Bruce Almighty! Her television career includes appearances on The Weakest Link and a role in the sitcom Life’s Work.
In her last visit to the DMV, Walter acted as Honorary Marshall for the 2023 Cherry Blossom Parade.
MCM talked to Walter in April about the parade, her hit show and growing up in Montgomery County.
Walter will perform her standup comedy act at the Bethesda Theater in two shows on Sunday, September 17.
