Former Maryland star Abby Meyers has been signed to a hardship contract by the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.
The Mystics had two roster spots open due to an injury to Kristi Tolliver, also a Maryland alum, and Li Meng’s temporary departure to play for the Chinese National team.
A Whitman alum and Potomac native, Meyers was originally selected by Dallas with the 11th overall pick in 2023 WNBA Draft before being waived on May 15. Meyers averaged 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals in 35 games for Maryland during the 2022-23 season. She will wear number 10, her college number, with the Mystics.
