About 12 people and several pets were displaced in a North Bethesda apartment fire on Sunday, according to county Fire and Rescue Service Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
There were no injuries, according to Piringer. The Red Cross is helping displaced residents.
About 65 firefighters responded to 5100 Crossfield Court for a fire on the second floor of a three-story apartment building. The building was evacuated.
The fire was accidental and likely started on or near a stovetop in the kitchen during cooking, and extended to the walls. Damage is more than $100,000, according to Piringer.
