The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center will host a fee-waived adoption event Dec. 14-15. Dubbed “Home for the Holidays,” the weekend event seeks to match shelter pets with loving families in time for the holiday season.
Appointments are available starting Dec. 7 to help manage wait times. Walk-ins will be accepted based on counselor availability.
“We have seen an increase in animals at our facility,” said Maria Anselmo, the shelter’s community relations manager. “This event is a chance for us to find warm homes for these wonderful pets.”
Adopters should review the shelter’s website to confirm the availability of desired animals and come prepared to take pets home immediately. Necessary supplies, such as leashes for dogs or carriers for cats, must be brought along.
The shelter is located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road and serves as the county’s only open-admission municipal shelter. Operating under the Office of Animal Services, the facility focuses on adoption, education, and advocacy for responsible pet care.
