According to the app, airnow.gov, many areas of Montgomery County are Code Yellow (moderate) as of 8 a.m. Friday.
Air quality is expected to improve to Code Yellow (moderate) for the entire region Saturday and Code Green (good) Sunday and Monday.
Air Quality has improved overnight – Code Orange anticipated for today. Those with heart and lung conditions may still want to limit their outdoor exercise. The air should clear out over the weekend, but it will get hotter as well. @7NewsDC @WTOP pic.twitter.com/S9uI7M9KyN
