Animal Shelter Waives Fees for “Find Your Lucky Pup” Adoptions

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) hosts a free “Find Your Lucky Pup” adoption event for all dogs from Thursday, March 14 to Monday, March 17. As the shelter reaches full capacity, MCASAC urges residents to adopt a dog. Adoption fees remain waived.

The adoption process is free and straightforward. Adoptions operate on a first-come, first-served basis and happen the same day. Prospective pet owners should bring a leash and collar when visiting the facility to take their new pet home. Learn more about the process on the MCASAC website.

The MCASAC, located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood, is open seven days a week. Residents can visit the facility during open hours or view adoptable animals online.

Friends of Montgomery County Animals sponsor adoption fees, making it easier for families to welcome a pet into their homes.

The Animal Services and Adoption Center will be open to the public during the following hours:

Thursday: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Friday: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Saturday: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Monday: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

MCASAC, operated by the Office of Animal Services, provides shelter and care for homeless, abused and neglected animals. It is Montgomery County’s only open-admission municipal shelter. The center promotes responsible pet care through adoptions, education and outreach. Animal Services officers respond to complaints and emergencies seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
