Friday, April 26
Family Game Night: Montgomery County Recreation hosts this family event Friday, April 26 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ross Boddy Neighborhood Recreation Center. Enjoy a fun night with the family with a variety of games and activities. Light snacks will be provided for free. The center is located at 18529 Brooke Road in Sandy Spring. Fishing with the Li’l Ones: Montgomery Parks invites children ages 3 to 6 years old to go fishing Friday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. off the dock at Little Seneca Lake in Boyds. Poles and bait will be provided. Cost is $7 and registration is required. The Black Hill Discovery Center is located at 20926 Lake Ridge Drive in Boyds. Register here.
Percussion Discussion Performance: The Knock on Wood Tap Studio’s three resident ensembles will share their talents in a dance performance featuring both contemporary and traditional tap dances. Saturday, April 27
Carousel Day: Glen Echo Park’s 103-year-old Dentzel Carousel opens for the season Saturday, April 27 with a special event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Celebrate with carousel rides, live performances, hands-on arts and crafts. The event happens rain or shine. Carousel tickets cost $2 per ride or $5 for an all-say pass. Glen Echo Park is located at 7300 MacArthur Boulevard. For more information, click here.

Rec Regatta: The second annual rec regatta takes place Saturday, April 27 at the Olney Swim Center pool from noon to 3 p.m. All are welcome to watch as participants race across the pool in handmade cardboard boats that hold two people. Prizes will be given for the Fastest Boat, Best Design, Team Spirit, and Most Spectacular Sinking. Free to watch. The Olney Swim Center is located at 16605 Georgia Avenue. Green Fest: Montgomery County’s largest annual environmental festival takes place Saturday, April 27 in Germantown. Learn how to contribute to a healthier environment at the Germantown Town Center Urban Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. GreenFest features local artisans, educational activities, a community art project, and assorted food trucks. Family activities include kid’s yoga, plant giveaways, and face painting. Sunday, April 28
Olney Days & Parade: Olney Days takes place this weekend with a three-day long celebration with nine different events in various locations around Olney. Sunday, the festivities culminate in a parade at 2 p.m. Find the complete schedule for Olney Days here.
Silver Spring Arts & Crafts Spring Fair: Paintings, art photography, hand-made jewelry, glass and wood products, home decor, clothing and accessories will be on display at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. More than 70 artisans and crafters will have booths at the fair. Sarah Stefan Smith Art Exhibit: VisArts solo exhibit by artist-scholar Sarah Stefana Smith opened March 29 and continues through May 12 in the Common Ground Gallery. The ‘Thresholds of Dissent’ exhibit brings together a constellation of works that consider material and material life. Free. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. VisArts is located at 155 Gibbs Street, an easy walk from the Rockville Metro station.
