
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) released more information Monday about a Feb. 21 arrest of a suspect who was in the act of burglarizing a residence in the 300 block of Hannes Street in Silver Spring. The suspect had allegedly been involved in several previous burglaries in the Silver Spring and Wheaton area according to police.
MCPD said in a press release that 44-year-old Josue Antonio Caceres, of Silver Spring has been arrested and charged for a series of burglaries that occurred in Silver Spring and Wheaton.

On Friday, Feb. 21 at approximately 10:25 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police โ 4th District officers responded to the 300 block of Hannes St. for the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suspect, later identified as Caceres, inside the residence. Officers quickly apprehended and arrested Caceres without incident according to police.
Upon his arrest, officers searched a bag that Caceres was carrying according to the release. The bag contained stolen items from the residence and other items of evidentiary value.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Caceres as the suspect in a Jan. 22, burglary that occurred in the 11800 block of Garner Street and a January 30, burglary that occurred in the 500 block of E. Franklin Avenue.
Caceres has been transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit (CPU), where he is currently being held without bond.
