The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) declared the week of Oct. 2-7 as Fall Officials Appreciation Week to thank and bring attention to over 5,000 registered sports officials in the state of Maryland.
The MPSSAA Sportsmanship Committee started the appreciation week in the 2021-2022 school year. It is part of a seasonal series of appreciation events to celebrate sports officials throughout the different sports seasons.

The Fall Officials Appreciation Week recognizes officials who call fall sports (cross country, field hockey, football, soccer, golf, and volleyball.)
As part of the appreciation week, MPSSAA has provided member schools with a pre-competition public address announcement and a list of different activities they can use to show their support for officials.
More information on the appreciation week can be found here.
