B-CC Student Charged With Weapon Possession, Disruption of School Activities

A 15-year-old male Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School student was charged with disruption of school activities, possession of a weapon on school property and possession of a concealed weapon in connection with an incident Tuesday that caused the school to be placed in lockdown.

According to police, a Bethesda-Chevy Chase student reported to the school administration that a male student had a gun on campus. Officers responded to the school and learned the name of that student.

However, police said, that student had left the school property prior to the school being placed on lockdown at 10:24 a.m.

Police officers found the student at a residence near the school, and he was taken into custody without incident. The black gun was found in that student’s bag, according to police.
