Councilmember Marilyn Balcombe will host a “Back to School Block Party” for middle and high school students on Friday, Sept. 27, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, and BlackRock Center are organizing the event with Balcombe. The event will offer fun activities for students after the MCPS half-day early release.
The block party will feature a resource fair for students, lawn games, soccer, arts activities, free food, and an opportunity to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours. Attendees do not need to register for the event.
Parents and students looking for more information or those interested in participating can contact Councilmember Balcombe’s office directly.
