Detectives from the MCPD arrested a 20-year-old Baltimore man for the murder of a Silver Spring man on April 9.
20-year-old Kaleab Abebe Berhanu was charged with first-degree murder, home invasion and firearm related charges on May 3. MCPD detectives arrested Berhanu on May 4. Berhanu was taken into custody and transported to Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. He is being held without bond.
Berhanu is accused of killing 20-year-old Carlos Rashad Carter on April 9. The incident took place in the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring.
