A Bethesda resident became $50,000 richer playing a Maryland Lottery drawing on May 3.
Maryland lottery officials describe the man as “a loyal player of Pick 4 and Pick 5” drawings who decided to use a combination of the numbers 3, 0, 4 and 0. He said, “I was sure I would win.”
On May 3, he won the top prize of $50,000 in the Pick 5 evening drawing with a bet on the number 30400. The part time car service driver placed his $1 bet at a 7-Eleven in Rockville.
Maryland allows lottery winners to remain anonymous. The Bethesda man told lottery officials he plans to use his winnings to bring his father for a visit from Iran.
The 7-Eleven located at 11530 Rockville Pike will receive a $500 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning bet.
