The 24th annual Bethesda Row Arts Festival will return this weekend, featuring more than 165 local and national artists who will showcase their work along four blocks of Bethesda Avenue, Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and will feature 72 artists who are first-time attendees and 42 who are local to the Washington, D.C., metro area. This year’s artist lineup is the largest number of “homegrown” creators the festival has ever featured, according to its Facebook page.
The family-friendly festival will include dozens of artistic mediums – including paintings, drawings, jewelry, photography, sculptures, ceramics and wood art.
Each artist will have work for sale, with prices as low as $20-30. Retailers and restaurants in the area are also offering discounts and menu specials. Visitors can also view a searchable map of the festival offerings to curate their experience.
A jury of local artists will also select vendors to win awards in each artistic discpline featured. There will also be a grand prize awarded for the Best of Show artists. Award winners will be announced on Sunday morning.
The festivities will take place two blocks from the Bethesda Metro Station. At the top of the Metro escalator, visitors can walk through the bus terminal to reach the festival via Woodmont Avenue.
For driving visitors, a public garage in the middle of the festivities is accessible from Bethesda Avenue via Arlington Road. Other nearby public lots will also be open.
Cyclists on the Capital Crescent Trail can cross the show at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Bethesda Avenue. There will be bike parking throughout the show.
