The Washington Area Bicyclist Association launched a crash tracker website where those involved in crashes throughout the area can register the incident.
Tracking includes near-miss incidents, traffic crashes, cars parked in car lanes and dangerous street locations in Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C.
Reports go to both the association, and if the cyclist chooses, to the appropriate elected officials and department of transportations. The site suggests information on what to do when involved in a crash.
The idea, association members wrote in a news release, is to allow the group to monitor what is going on as well as let them keep government officials informed.
