Bilingual Fentanyl Forum Draws Hundreds

Parents, grandparents, teens and guardians filled the gym at Burtonsville’s Paint Branch High School Saturday. The third in the series of Family Fentanyl Forums allowed the audience to break out into smaller more intimate groups to share concerns and gather new information.

Event organizers and Montgomery Goes Purple founder Laura Mitchell, At Large Councilmember Will Jawando and participants talked to myMCM about the experience:

Fentanyl continues to pose challenges to the community, including an overdose last week at a McDonald’s in Gaithersburg. Luckily a student was able to revive the victim with the help of Narcan.

This marked the final Forum for the school year. Smaller community-based events will be held during the summer months. Check back with My MCM for details on those sessions.
