For the second time in recent days — and the second consecutive school day — Montgomery County Police officers investigated the validity of a bomb threat received against Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring.
Both incidents turned out to be not valid.
Monday afternoon, following normal dismal time, police were called to the high school. Most students had already left, and those that remained were placed in a secure location, according to police.
At about 3:18 p.m., police were still investigating, but no students or faculty remained on school grounds. At 4 p.m., officers wrote on X, “The threat at Montgomery Blair High School has been determined not valid. The scene is secured at this time.”
Principal Renay Johnson sent a letter to the families of students about the incident.
A letter from my office has been sent to Montgomery Blair High School families about this afternoon’s bomb threat. I want to THANK our school security, staff, and @mcpnews police partners for responding to our school and searching our campus. We owe the K-9 unit treats! 🐾🐾 1/2

On Oct. 13, police responded to that school for a bomb threat. After searching the large facility, nothing was found and students and faculty were given the all clear sign to return to classes.
UPDATE: Officers are still on scene verifying the validity of the threat.
There are no students or faculty on school grounds.
