The Montgomery County Board of Elections is currently seeking election poll workers for the upcoming presidential election on November 3.
“Planning to vote in person? Help us help others by becoming an election poll worker!,” said the Board of Elections in a tweet Tuesday. Despite being in the midst of a global pandemic, Governor Hogan has not decided to cancel in-person voting for the general election. Election poll workers are needed as many residents are anticipated to head to the voting booths.
Over Twitter, the Board of Elections announced the job requirements. Individuals looking to serve as an election poll worker must be at least 16, be a U.S. citizen and live in Maryland. Both part-time and full-time positions are available. The board also wrote that election poll workers could earn up to $210. The position may also be of interest to Montgomery County students, as this job could earn them around 25 student service learning (SSL) hours.
Those looking to apply for the position can text “SERVE” to 77788 or use this link.
