Update:
The body of an adult male recovered in Lake Churchill in Germantown on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 has been identified as 30-year-old Ankit Bagai of Germantown according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCP).
In a press release, MCP says Bagai was reported missing and last seen on Sunday, April 9 in the 12000 block of Panthers Ridge Drive in Germantown. Officers were called to the area of Afternoon and Summersong Lanes at approximately 8 a.m., for the report of a body in the water. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner then identified according to police.
No foul play is suspected according to police.
On Tuesday morning, officials say boat crews recovered a body from Lake Churchill in the Germantown area.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue say the body was recovered around 9 a.m. after a report of someone in the water. According to MCFRS Public Information Officer, Pete Piringer, crews responded to that same area on April 9, and Tuesday’s discover may be related.

No further information was immediately available. The person’s identity has not been released and an investigation is ongoing.
