Four Montgomery County football teams are still alive heading into the third week of the playoffs. In 4A play:
- Quince Orchard (11-0) hosts Arundel (8-3)
- Northwest (10-1) hosts Paint Branch (10-1)
Winners advance to the state semi-finals next week.
In 3A play, 9-2 Damascus, led by Clemson-bound defensive lineman Bryan Bresee, the best player in the county – and the entire country according to many ratings services – hosts a very tough Franklin team (9-2) that could potentially end the Hornets’ quest for a state title.
