Built in 1936, Brink Road Bridge Slated for Rehab as County Invites Feedback

Montgomery County transportation officials will hold a virtual public meeting at 7 p.m. April 30 to discuss plans to rehabilitate the aging Brink Road Bridge over Great Seneca Creek.

The bridge, built in 1936 and reconstructed in 1972, is in poor condition, according to the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT). The proposed project aims to extend the structure’s lifespan and address safety concerns before they become critical.

During the meeting, MCDOT staff will present details about the project scope, timeline and estimated costs. The department will also collect public feedback, which may influence the final design.

Residents can register for the meeting, submit questions, and view project materials on the project website. Comments can be submitted through an online form or emailed to project manager ShyanYung Pan at ShyanYung.Pan@montgomerycountymd.gov through 5 p.m. May 30. Written comments will be considered on equal footing with oral remarks made during the meeting.

Interpreter services are available upon request with at least five business days’ notice. Requests must be made by April 22 by contacting Lori Main at Lori.Main@montgomerycountymd.gov or 240-777-7271.
