Following the Uvalde, Texas school shooting, Faith United Methodist Church in Rockville displayed an outdoor memorial with 21 chairs to honor the 19 children and two teachers killed. On Friday, a pastor from the church announced on Facebook that the chairs were stolen Thursday night.
“We think that our empty chairs, a public witness representing lives lost in the massacre in Uvalde, TX, were stolen last night,” Pastor Laura said in a Facebook post and added “god help us be better.”
The church located at 6810 Montrose Road also displayed the following message on their outdoor marquee board: “Chair thief, if you need more let us know, we can share.”
