Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) brings the beloved story Charlotte’s Web to life on stage this spring. The production, based on E.B. White’s classic novel, opens April 25, 2025, under the direction of Clancey Yovanovich.
The play follows Wilbur, a young pig, and Charlotte, a wise and caring spider, as they build an unlikely friendship. Charlotte spins extraordinary messages into her web to save Wilbur from an untimely fate, highlighting the power of compassion and teamwork.
ATMTC offers a special free performance on April 27 at 11 a.m. for furloughed and laid-off federal employees. Audience members can reserve tickets online and must present proof of furlough or layoff at Will-Call.
About the Show
“When I took this job at Adventure Theatre MTC, I wanted to work with people who valued friendship,” said Artistic Director Kurt Boehm. “Charlotte’s Web beautifully illustrates how two souls from different worlds connect and create something meaningful.”
The production showcases Irene Hamilton as Charlotte, Deimoni Brewington as Wilbur (before May 7), and Dylan Toms as Templeton. Jordan Brown steps into the role of Wilbur on May 7. The creative team features Lighting Designer Lynn Joslin, Costume Designer Paris Francesca, and Set Designer Megan Holden.
Director Clancey Yovanovich makes her ATMTC debut and emphasizes the show’s themes of community and support. “Through Charlotte’s leadership, the farm animals unite to protect their most vulnerable member,” Yovanovich said. “This story of compassion feels more relevant than ever.”
Throughout the production’s run, ATMTC partners with Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary in Potomac. The sanctuary rescues farm animals and provides educational tours.
