The Yoshino cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin are nearing peak bloom.
The National Park Service (NPS) said Sunday that the world-famous blossoms are at Florets Visible, the second of six stages. The NPS predicts peak bloom will fall between March 28 and March 31.
The cherry blossoms are now at Florets Visible, the 2nd of 6 stages. The weather will play a big role in how quickly we get to Peak Bloom, so stay tuned.

For those who prefer not to venture downtown:
The Kenwood neighborhood in Bethesda usually experiences peak bloom about a week after the Tidal Basin’s peak bloom.
At Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, the blossoms are ahead of schedule but not showing color right now. They are expected to reach peak bloom in a week and a half to two weeks but, as always, it depends on the weather from now until then.
