The City of Rockville is holding its annual Holiday Drive accepting canned and non-perishable food items by Nov. 15.
The following canned and non-perishable food items can be donated:
- Cans – Vegetables, fruits, cranberry sauce, tomatoes, soup, beans and gravy.
- Bags – One-pound bags of rice, quinoa or beans.
- Boxes – Mac and cheese, pasta, cornmeal and stuffing.
Along with the food items, new or gently used toys and books can be donated by Dec. 13.
The food, toys and books can be dropped off at the Rockville City Hall, Thomas Farm Community Center, Lincoln Park Community Center, Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, Twinbrook Community Recreation Center and Rockville Senior Center.
People can donate money through online or by mailing a check to the City. The City said the tax-deductible monetary donations will be used to purchase gift cards for Thanksgiving and books and gift cards in December.
Volunteers can help by sorting, bagging and delivering books to housebound residents. To sign up, click here.
