Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) invites high school seniors to a college admissions event Thursday, Jan. 11. Students interview with college representatives and receive an on-the-spot admissions decision. The event takes place at Seneca Valley High School cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m.
Students are encouraged to register before the event and contact their College Career Information Coordinators (CCICs).
Students may also find out if they are eligible for scholarships. So far this year, more than 300 students have participated in 471 interviews for on-the-spot admissions. The students were offered 460 scholarships, totaling nearly $3 million.
Participating Colleges and Universities:
- Coppin State University (Students should have already applied to Coppin and have an unofficial copy of their transcript to interview.)
- Hood College
- Morgan State University
- Mount St. Mary’s University
- Stevenson University (Students should have already applied to Stevenson and submitted their essay. Students need to have a minimum of a 3.0 unweighted GPA to interview.)
- Trinity Washington University
- University of Maryland Eastern Shore
- Montgomery College will also be on-site to answer questions and assist students with applying to MC.
- Washington Adventist University
Seneca Valley High School is located at 19401 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.
