Jovannie T. McCarthy, 27, of College Park, was charged in connection with a fatal car crash on May 8.
According to Montgomery County Police, McCarthy was driving a blue 2006 Honda Accord at 12:44 a.m. She exited westbound Route 200 onto Briggs Chaney Road and struck a 2023 Volkswagen that was headed east on Briggs Chaney Road.
Kiara Cheeks, 35, of Washington, D.C. was driving the Volkswagen and succumbed to her injuries while hospitalized.
McCarthy was taken into custody and charged with criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle on Dec. 1.
Her trial is set for Jan. 16.
