Capital Bikeshare is offering free memberships to qualifying college students in Montgomery County, according to an MCDOT tweet Wednesday.
Residents must be at least 18 years old and part of a state or federal assistance program in order to qualify. According to Capital Bikeshare, the included programs are as follows:
-Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
-Women Infants, and Children (WIC)
-Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
-Supplemental Security Income (SSI/SSDI)
-Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
-Medicaid
-Veterans rated with “60% disability or more”
Those looking to apply for this membership are asked to contact MCDOT and provide one of the following forms: EBT Card, discounted utility bill dated in the last 30 days, SSI/SSDI statement of benefits, Medicaid card or a VA letter.
