On Friday afternoon, representatives of the Committee for Better Government delivered several more boxes of signed petitions to the Rockville offices of the County Executive. It constitutes a second wave in the effort to get a referendum on the ballot in November to limit the County Executive to two four-year terms. Currently the County Executive can serve for three terms.
MCM was there for the delivery and spoke with the Reardon Sullivan, Chair of the Committee and former candidate for County Executive.
The Board of Elections will review the petitions to ensure the signatures belong to registered voters. That process should begin in a matter of days.
County Executive has previously stated that he will run for a third term.
