Montgomery County Council congratulated CCI Health Services on its 50th anniversary. The Community Clinic serves tens of thousands of people and has offices in Gaithersburg, Rockville, Germantown, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton and other locations in Prince George’s County.
“At 50, we are just getting started,” said CCI President and CEO Sonya Bruton. She noted that the organization started in a small house in Rockville.
Councilmember Will Jawando praised the non-profit organization, noting that “During COVID, they really helped us out.” He also said, “CCI was right on the front lines during the pandemic.”
Councilmember Kate Stewart added, “They do it in a way that treats their families and patients with respect and dignity.”
The organization, which employs 300 people, began 32 years ago to provide access to Women, Infact and Children’s Supplemental Nutrition Program. It has served more than 70,000 people since then.
CCI is involved with dental care, behavioral health care, nutrition services, prenatal care, family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
