Today is Thursday, June 10, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Gov. Hogan Visits Novavax in Montgomery County: Novavax, a biotechnology company developing next-generation vaccines for serious infectious diseases headquartered in Gaithersburg, will host Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan today at 9:30 a.m. Additional guests will include state, regional, and local officials. Click here for more details.

2. COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at eight testing sites today. Montgomery County clinics are now vaccinating residents ages 12 and older. Click here to make an appointment.

3. VAX Cash Winner: A Bethesda resident is the latest VaxCash Winner to get $40,000! The Maryland Lottery $2 Million VaxCash Promotion is a public outreach campaign consisting of a series of statewide drawings to help raise awareness and increase the number of Marylanders that are vaccinated for COVID-19.

4. County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Update: Local leaders announced that Montgomery County is leading the way nationwide regarding vaccination rates. There’s also been an update for face mask guidance. Click here to learn more.
