The fallout following the Oct. 12 dismissal of the entire five-member Montgomery County Planning Board continues to ripple through local government. The County Council met on Dec. 12 to review upcoming legislation. The meeting became contentious as the focus moved to a proposal by State Senator Ben Kramer.
The Montgomery County Planning Board is part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).
As currently written, the legislation would recommend the process for choosing members of the Commission be changed. Kramer and councilmembers stated their positions, starting with District 6’s Natalie Fani-Gonzalez, who previously served as Vice President of Park and Planning.
