A county council staffer was put on administrative leave following an investigation into allegations that the employee “inappropriately charged” more than $11,000 in reservations for county athletic fields to a council account.
Council President Evan Glass discussed next steps during a media briefing Monday.
According to the findings from the county’s Office of the Inspector General, the employee “intentionally misled” Montgomery Parks and Community Use of Public Facilities staff into thinking the employee was requesting reservations for fields on the council’s behalf, when they were really doing it for their spouse.
Glass said appropriate action is being taken by the council’s executive director and the matter was referred to the county’s ethics commission and county state’s attorney’s office.
