Ledecky will swim the 400, 800, and 1500m freestyle events in Paris, as well as the 4x200m freestyle relay.

A native of Chevy Chase, Bacon has also spent the past several years swimming at the University of Wisconsin, where the backstroke specialist has finaled in several NCAA championship meets.

Erin Gemmell (Swimming)

The youngest of the Stone Ridge swimmers taking on this year’s Olympics, Erin Gemmell made her first Olympic team after qualifying for the 4x200m freestyle relay, where she will swim alongside Ledecky.

Gemmell, who swims at the University of Texas, is the daughter of famous swim coach Bruce Gemmell, who coached Ledecky and countless other elite swimmers at Nation’s Capital Swim Club (NCAP).

Helen Maroulis (Wrestling)

Helen Maroulis, a native of Rockville and a Magruder High School alum, is competing in her third Olympics. Maroulis took home gold in the 53 kg weight class in 2016 and bronze in 57 kg in 2021.

Maroulis is the first-ever American to win a gold medal in women’s freestyle wrestling thanks to her performance in 2016. She is set to compete in the 57 kg weight class again in Paris.
