Montgomery County will celebrate “Active Aging Week” from Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, offering a variety of free programs to promote healthy, active lifestyles for residents aged 50 and older. The international campaign encourages physical, mental, and social engagement in older adults.
The week’s signature event, “Go, Grow & Get Active,” will kick off on Monday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nancy H. Dacek North Potomac Community Recreation Center, 13850 Travilah Road, Rockville. Attendees can enjoy workshops aimed at improving wellness through exercise, creative expression, and social interaction. The center is located at 13850 Travilah Road in Rockville. “Staying active is key to a healthy and fulfilling life at any age,” said County Executive Marc Elrich in a statement. He encourages residents to participate in the week’s activities.
