The Montgomery County Department of Recreation joins the National Recreation and Park Association in celebrating Parks and Recreation Month, per a press release. The department is encouraging residents to engage in the many programs they are offering.
Recreation director Robin Riley is proud of the hard-working staff for being committed to giving the residents high quality service. She said the work they do everyday makes a difference. “July comes in with a bang with our independence day fireworks and concerts and throughout the month we reach thousands of residents at our senior centers, community recreation centers and swimming pools or through our summer programs which serve many age groups,” ,” Riley said.
County Executive Marc Elrich hopes that residents will take advantage of the amenities offered by the department of recreation. “Montgomery County is more welcoming, stronger, vibrant, and resilient because of outstanding recreation programs and services,” said Elrich.
