The Montgomery County Council is seeking applicants to become a full-term member of the Montgomery County Planning Board, the Council announced in a press release Thursday.
Commissioner Shawn Bartley’s partial term is set to expire in June, though he has expressed interest in reapplying, the release said.

The Planning Board advises the Council on land and community planning, while also serving as commissioners of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
The Board is responsible for creating and updating various plans, including the current County General Plan, Thrive Montgomery 2050.
Additional responsibilities of the Board include:
- Regulation and implementation of subdivision operations
- Recommendation of zoning code amendments
- Input on facilities planning and related programs
- Oversight of department budgets, with the Planning and Parks directors reporting directly to the Board
- Oversight of the 37,000-acre park system, including land acquisition matters, development contracts, and park operation policies.
Planning Board members are limited to two four-year terms and currently earn a salary of $30,000.
Applicants must live and be registered to vote in Montgomery County.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 11.
