Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is holding a virtual town hall at noon on June 11 on “the alarming reduction in the number of women in the U.S. workforce” due to the pandemic.
This is part of a series of town hall meetings concerning the effects of COVID-19. Judy Stephenson, the county’s small business navigator, will host the session which also will include updates on grant programs. Speakers include County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and County Director of Emergency Management Earl Stoddard.
Also speaking will be Lynne Stein Benzion of the county Economic Development Corporation; Jennifer Arnaiz of the county Childcare Resource and Referral Center; Morgan Wortham of the Maryland Women’s Business Center and Tazeen Ahmad of the county Commission for Women.
“We are fortunate to have resources available to help businesses and women develop strategies to ensure everyone benefits equally from the recovery,” Stephenson wrote in a news release. “This should be an informative discussion on a critical topic.”
