County Joins DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 28

Montgomery County is participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Prescription Drug Take-Back day is an opportunity for the public to bring in expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can stop by any of the county’s National Take-Back Day locations in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Germanton, Chevy Chase, and Gaithersburg. To find all the Drug Enforcement Administration collection sites in Montgomery County, click on their Collection Site Search webpage, enter ‘Montgomery’ for County and ‘MD. for State and then click on the Submit button.

The county also maintains six permanent locations at each district police station where residents can safely dispose of medications year-round with no questions asked.

Montgomery County residents can drop off unneeded prescription drugs on Oct. 28. Here is a list of the locations:
