County native and business owner Roslyn Ashford is expanding her franchise to Kensington.
County Executive Marc Elrich toured her new Budget Blinds showroom as part of a tour Friday to wrap up Women’s History Month.
For years, Ashford has owned her Budget Blinds franchise — Budget Blinds of Bethesda & Silver Spring located in Washington, D.C. — and this month she opened a showroom at 4233 Howard Avenue in Kensington. Ashford was born in the county and went to Springbrook High School.
Customers can see and touch shades, shutters, blinds, and drapery at the Kensington location, and there is a showcase room for smart home technology.
