Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich rolled up his sleeve Wednesday morning and received a Novavax COVID-19 vaccine injection.
Many council and board of education members also attended the outdoor event.
The goal was held to let residents know about the availability of the FDA-approved 2025 Novavax vaccine and to convince them to get vaccinated. People received their shot under a tent in the parking lot of the Giant on Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring.
The event was sponsored by Elrich and Councilmember Kristin Mink.
Starting off the day with a local shot! Thank you @CMKristinMink for bringing us together this morning with our partners at @GiantFood and local vaccine manufacturer @Novavax to promote getting the updated COVID vaccine. pic.twitter.com/hbd93zgqQ0
