The Auto Theft Initiative program, which aims to help law enforcement locate stolen vehicles, is now available to all county residents, the Montgomery County Department of Police announced on Monday.

Participation in the program is free and includes the installation of a Tile device, which allows users to track the location of their car via the Tile app. “Montgomery County Police CANNOT track your vehicle by participating in this program,” said police in a Tweet on Monday. “Participants must download the Tile app.”
Participants of the program must be a Montgomery County resident and the registered owner of a vehicle. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, police ask that you “contact Sergeant Enendu at 240-773-5581 or ijeoma.enendu@montgomerycountymd.gov.”
