The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is hosting an ice skating event in Wheaton on March 24.
Members of the community can join police officers at Wheaton Ice Skating Rink for an MCPD Cold Skate. From 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., attendees can enjoy music, food and ice skating.
Captain Jordan Satinsky, director of the Community Engagement Division, said MCPD is working to rebuild programs connecting youth and law enforcement through athletics. These programs engage community youth, their families and police officers all at the same time.
“Traditionally, we found that creates and promotes a more positive relationship between everyone and breaks down barriers with the unknown,” said Satinsky.

The division is looking to also host a girl’s soccer challenge later this spring.
